JOB SUMMARIES:
Lead High Voltage Project Development Engineer - Energy Storage

This role will act as a functional lead working cross-functionally with the EPC, Project Finance, Project Development, Transmission Interconnection, and Origination Teams within the organization. The main scope of work will be defining the technical project development engineering objectives, project estimation/feasibility assessments, grid interconnection substation/transmission requirements, and managing the technical project delivery mechanisms to take projects through to their commercial operation date (COD). Experience with High Voltage Transmission Line, Transmission Interconnection, Substation Design Review, and Substation Placement assessments is critical.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead HV Project Development Engineer / Energy Storage Development Electrical Engineer - Acts as a Technical Leader on the strategic utility-scale renewable EPC and project development processes through the full lifecycle of the projects tackling engineering, interconnection, permitting, regulatory, and land acquisition initiatives

• Lead HV Project Development Engineer / Energy Storage Development Electrical Engineer - Represents the EPC Team in talks with the Transmission & Interconnection Division on defining, reviewing, and executing interconnection agreement requirements to ensure the battery storage projects are successfully integrated into the grid

• Lead HV Project Development Engineer / Energy Storage Development Electrical Engineer - Advises on technical bid and procurement/contracting management initiatives including responses to RFPs / RFQs / RFIs as well as the creation of internal databases for major equipment pricing in coordination with project lead times

• Lead HV Project Development Engineer / Energy Storage Development Electrical Engineer - Navigates the design and build out of high voltage substations and transmission systems based on project utility interconnection needs through interactions with nationwide ISO/RTOs

• Lead HV Project Development Engineer / Energy Storage Development Electrical Engineer - Leads project engineering based renewables optimization, risk management, and warranty negotiation activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years of Project Engineering and/or Project Development Engineering experience focused on utility-scale renewables or large scale energy infrastructure EPC projects. Electrical Engineering expertise with High Voltage Transmission Line, Transmission Interconnection, Substation Design Review and Substation Placement is critical

• Experience in full-life cycle project development engineering including EPC development of utility scale renewable energy projects with a high level of expertise in High Voltage Engineering Design Review for HV substations. substation collections systems, and transmission lines for grid connected systems

• Experience in early stage EPC / development phases of utility scale renewable energy projects including engineering design, construction, and feasibility studies with a HUGE emphasis on the RFP/ RFI / RFQ and PROJECT

• Well versed in high level technical project engineering initiatives such as contractor evaluation and selection, financials, schedules, estimates, contracts, constructability reviews, project phasing and earned value KPIs

• Solid background in the management of project commissioning, installation, testing, as well as construction staff and deliverables

• Experience in EPC project development engineering (including site-layout, permitting, and/or regulatory approvals), transmission interconnection, procurement/contracting, and project turnover initiatives specifically in the utility-scale renewables industry

• Working knowledge technical and commercial elements of the major equipment / technology supply, engineering, and pre-construction processes, specifically around battery performance specifications, and warranty negotiation + management

Energy Storage Project Engineer / Renewables Preconstruction Engineer

• Energy Storage Project Engineer / Renewables Preconstruction Engineer - develops capital cost estimates, feasibility assessments, and milestone schedules to support financial valuation models for the early stage development utility-scale renewables projects (solar, battery storage, solar + storage, energy storage..etc)

• Energy Storage Project Engineer / Renewables Preconstruction Engineer - leads the RFP / RQ/ RFI (request for proposal) creation process on major utility-scale renewables projects (solar, battery storage, solar + storage, energy storage..etc)

• Energy Storage Project Engineer / Renewables Preconstruction Engineer - acts as a key EPC stakeholder and facilitator of the early stage estimation process for large scale utility-scale renewables projects (solar, battery storage, solar + storage, energy storage..etc)

• Energy Storage Project Engineer / Renewables Preconstruction Engineer - is heavily focused on assessing EPC technology (solar, battery storage, solar + storage, energy storage..etc) and site layout options with respect to long-term utility-scale renewable project initiatives

• Energy Storage Project Engineer / Renewables Preconstruction Engineer - Accountable for performance requirements to deliver maximum potential EPC project value while minimizing execution and operating risks

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of utility-scale renewable energy experience working with IPPs / Developers / Owners

• MUST HAVE RECENT EXPERIENCE with pre-construction engineering / project development initiatives such as site-layout/optimization, transmission interconnection requirements, procurement/contracting, and pre-construction management specifically in the utility-scale renewables industry

• Experience in early stage EPC / development phases of utility scale renewable energy projects including engineering design, construction, and feasibility studies with a HUGE emphasis on the RFP/ RFI / RFQ and PROJECT ESTIMATION PROCESS

• Well versed in high level technical project management initiatives such as contractor evaluation and selection, financials, schedules, estimates, contracts, constructability reviews, project phasing and earned value KPIs

• Working knowledge technical and commercial elements of the major equipment / technology supply, engineering, and pre-construction processes, specifically around battery performance specifications, and warranty negotiation + management

• Current or previous experience as a Preconstruction Engineer, Pre-construction Project Manager (E&C), Project Engineer, or Project Development Engineer for large utility-scale renewable energy projects with a focus on solar, energy storage, and battery storage projects

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
