JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting all new business for the organization from an engineering perspective. Works to completed new projects and development of parts, partnering with a team of Design Engineers to complete tasks efficiently and timely. Participate in the design process, including design reviews and prototype generation. Supports tooling efforts. Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements. Performs technical support duties in a lean manufacturing system, e.g. – Employee Involvement, Total Quality, Continuous Improvement, Housekeeping, EH&S, Communication, Coordination, etc. that meets production and customer requirements.

SALARY

$80k-$90k - Commensurate with experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports all new business opportunities through the development of product and design efforts
• Develops and create part drawings to customer specifications with Design Engineers
• Reviews FEA when applicable
• Partner with the Tool Room team to ensure the completion of tooling
• Supports manufacturing/operations to troubleshoot part issues
• Assists quality team to solve issues and resolve customer complaints
• Develops takt time and lead continuous improvement events
• Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements
• Assist with the development of specialized training programs, processes, and procedures.
• Keep accurate records and reports of progress
• Maintain ongoing communication with all plant locations regarding continuous improvement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
• Lean or Six Sigma experience required
• Experience with cold heading/cold forming or automotive industry highly desired
