Job Summary

We are looking for attentive, alert and self-motivated people to ensure the safety of all patrons present by enforcing facility regulations, monitoring activity, and rendering emergency care in the event that a patron suffers from an incident. You must be comfortable in water, high heat, sun exposure and performing tasks around the facility to help keep it clean and safe.

Responsibilities

• Always come to work in proper uniform and be ready to work
• Supervise the safety of all swimmers in the pool by always being rescue ready
• Ensure the pool and facility is clean at all times
• Enforce the rules of the pool and the facility
• Report any unsafe water of facility conditions to a supervisor immediately
• Recognize, react and respond to emergency situations according to your training and using the emergency action plan
• Perform any tasks or duty assigned to you by a supervisor as scheduled and expected
• Participate in mandatory in-service training sessions
• Assure the pool is ready and opened promptly when it is scheduled by arriving on time
• Respond to members questions and requests within the rules of the facility and to strive to achieve customer satisfaction when possible
• Maintain a healthy fitness level by swimming and working out on a regular basis
• Keep accurate records of the pool chemicals and users of the pool

Minimum Qualifications:

• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
• An understanding and ability to follow rules, policies and procedures
• Ability to demonstrate good decision-making skills
• Must be friendly and outgoing with an ability to provide a high level of customer service
