Job Description
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler's primary role is to improve workforce productivity and work quality by eliminating in advance potential delays and obstacles. The position is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work performed in the plant. This role also maintains liaison and coordination between the operations and maintenance organizations.
1.The main contact and liaison person between the maintenance department and other plant
departments. Ensures that the plant receives prompt, efficient, and quality service from the
maintenance department. Plan future maintenance work, to reduce potential delays and maximize
maintenance workforce efficiency.
2. Receives all work orders from requesting departments utilizing the CMMS (SAP a plus).
3. Reviews and screens each work order, to ensure that it is properly filled out and work requested is
needed.
4. Develop work plans based upon work request and field inspections. Work plans are to indicate scope of what work is to be done and identify critical resources required.
5. Be a key part in developing a maintenance outage Gannt chart utilizing Microsoft Projects.
6. Estimate jobs showing sequence of steps, the number of tradespersons, and required labor hours
for each step.
7. Identify and obtains materials (kits as appropriate), entering material needs on the work order.
8. Maintains backlog files of work orders waiting scheduling.
9. Verifies availability of parts, materials, and special tools required for execution before scheduling.
10. Develops a maintenance work schedule for the maintenance technicians.
11. Follows up and reviews the completed schedules and work orders.
12. Coordinates weekly scheduling of maintenance plans.
13. Develop standard work order plans for regularly recurring repair jobs, to simplify the planning
process.
14. Responsible for ordering parts.
15. Procures required outside services, as needed.
16. Monitor effectiveness of the preventive and predictive maintenance program to minimize plant breakdowns.
17. Be an advocate for safety, ensuring safety is part of planning and execution of work.
18. Part of on call rotation.
Qualifications
HMechanical/Electrical Maintenance background
- High School Degree or Equivilent
- Planning/Scheduling experience within a manufacturing facility.
- Reliability centered maintenance background with experience in precision methods.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Projects
- Previous experience with a CMMS.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to plan work while being flexible to changes in scheduling needs.

Individuals hired into this position will be paid a recruiting bonus of $2500.
