Job description
This role plans, controls and directs the activities of our Medical Bill Review teams (both onshore and offshore). This requires both an operational and strategic mindset to lead this dynamic organization. These Medical Bill Review teams review and process millions of medical bills for injured workers each year. The leader is accountable for the development and maintenance of an automated system that applies jurisdictional appropriate fee schedules, usual and customary rates, and PPO network discounts. Responsible for the overall selection, development and performance management of Medical Services Representatives (MSR) who conduct reviews for proper billing, appropriate services, treatment levels and bundling/unbundling of services, as well as the careful application of state fee schedule rules and Clinical Review Specialists (Registered Nurses) who perform desk audits on complex bills, hospital bills.

Qualifications

  • In depth knowledge of knowledge of medical bill processing, medical bill review practices, and technology
  • Must know the Worker's Compensation environment and it's differences state to state
  • Advanced analytical skills to interpret business information drawn from multiple sources to make operational decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, lead, and get work done through others - must have operational management experience (preferably including experience with offshore vendor management).
  • Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills need to build relationships and exchange complex information; as normally acquired through a bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus at least 10 years of progressively more responsible work experience
