SUMMARY:

By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.
Reporting to the Manager Director Care Services, Care Services Educational Program Manager will be responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, and monitoring of education programs for all key stakeholders to include The ALS Association staff, persons living with ALS, their families, healthcare clinicians, and community partners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement key educational programs for both internal and external audiences within assigned territory to include but not limited to: Caregiver Labs/Bootcamps, Caregiver Conferences, symposia, research updates, youth and children programming, in-services, etc.
- Design and implement educational programs to address The ALS Association three prong approach to support of those living with ALS through care, research, and advocacy.
- Identify and monitor education program objectives, goals, and benchmarks to ensure intended outcomes are met; create plan of action when necessary to achieve intended outcomes.
- Assist with the development of program evaluation frameworks to assess the strengths, weaknesses, and to identify areas for improvement. Proactively recommend revisions to programs as indicated by information received, strategic initiatives and required deliverables.
- In collaboration with home office staff and Managing Director Care Services maintain ongoing communications to identify needs, gaps, and areas of improvement for educational programs and associated collateral materials.
- Work with subject matter experts in the fields of symptom management, children’s programs, research development, professional designations, and member organizations to maintain ‘best’ practice in Association programs.
- Implement alternative education solutions to allow for the implementation of programs through in-person, virtual, and hybrid platforms.
- Collaborate with Managing Director Care Services and Home Office staff to ensure all care services staff complete all assigned competency trainings.
- Develop and monitor approved education program expenditures within approved budget.
- Collaborate with Managing Director Care Services to provide relevant and consistent Care Services education to new hires and ongoing training to all staff.
- Ensure Care Services staff understand and effectively communicate and deliver educational programs which allow for consistency within the territory and across The Association network.
- Offer recommendations concerning current or future programs, including identifying processes, deadlines and milestones.
- Network and build professional relationships with members in the community to further advance The ALS Association’s mission.
- Convey a professional image that reflects favorably on The ALS Association.
- Assist Managing Director Care Services with other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a health profession, business, education, public health, or health-related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
- Familiarity with ALS or general neurology or issue connected disability and independence.
- Knowledge of healthcare facilities—operations, process of improvement, and quality.
- Proven experience in program development, implementation, and monitoring.
- Proven experience working with, and reporting out, quantitative and qualitative data.
- Working knowledge of risk management, quality outcomes, and model of care.
- Ability to work independently; must be a self-starter
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Familiarity working with simple databases; Salesforce preferred.
- Ability to deliver presentations in small and large group settings.
- Ability to travel on ALS Association business as required or requested.
PAY TRANSPARENCY:
The ALS Association’s pay range for this position is $49,174 - $69,392 annually.
The ALS Association has compensation ranges for various work locations throughout the United States, allowing us to compensate employees competitively and consistently in diverse geographic markets. The above-listed listed range shows prospective compensation for this role; the appropriate range will be established by what is eventually determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Various factors, including the complexity and significance of the role, job duties/requirements, relevant experience and abilities, and primary work location, determine individual compensation. Compensation ranges are evaluated and typically adjusted on a regular basis. Offers are made within the compensation range that is in effect at the time of the job offer.
The Association may, at its discretion, offer merit-based increases tied to individual performance. The benefits listed may differ depending on employment status with the Association.
