Job Summary

The Manufacturing Manager will lead one of the functional Manufacturing areas (Prep/Weave or Finishing/Cloth) in all initiatives including safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coach Supervisors as they work to hire, train and retain hourly employees
  • Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory metrics for their area to ensure success
  • Support and backup their peer Manufacturing Manager and cross-train and backup as needed
  • Ensure audit and compliance standards (AS9100) and appropriate controls are in place
  • Foster a health safety culture by leading by example and partnering effectively with HR / EHS
  • Oversee root cause corrective action process, investigations and safety incidents as needed and ensure that business is conducted at the highest level of integrity
  • Set strategic direction of the department and control all cost aspects such as labor, supply & repairs, waste, overtime and effective production planning and process flow.
  • Participate in capital projects, and other projects as assigned by Plant Manager
  • Serve as a relational driven subject matter expert partnering with other plant departments, corporate resources (Traffic, Finance, Quality, etc.) as well as external partners and customers
  • Support Human Resource initiatives across the business (diversity and inclusion, turnover/retention initiatives, performance reviews, engagement)
  • Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and demonstrate high integrity in all aspects of business
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with peers, key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders, Control all cost such as labor, supply, repairs, waste, and overtime.
  • Regularly review of data using statistical analysis tools

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years experience in Manufacturing Leadership in a similar environment
  • Bachelors degree or extensive manufacturing experience
  • Must possess strong coaching skills and be willing to learn and grow in their role
  • Possess computer skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to Manage in an ISO/AS9100 environment
  • Travel as needed, up to 30%
