Our Market Risk Manager (Rates Trading) will work with complex markets, products and structures. The nature of the role involves close working contact with various customers both internal and external to the bank and at varying levels of seniority. The role holder will propose the opinion and risk appetite for various Fixed Income related products across the bank.

Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Cover market risk for rates and repo trading.
  • Formulate risk appetite and Implement risk management framework.
  • Provide independent review and challenge on the risk taking activities.
  • Resolving risk breaches through relevant governance and escalation to senior management.

For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $157,700 and $236,600.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

  • Good understanding of the principles of Market Risks from interest rate trading, with minimum 5 years’ experience in market risk or trading functions.
  • Ability to find simple and pragmatic solutions to complex problems, including the manipulation of large data sets.
  • Distilling complex issues down into simple messages that can be understood easily by senior management and non-technical staff.
  • Excellent decision making based on quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Good communication skills to articulate risk profiles.
