Position: Materials and Manufacturing Research Scientist/Engineer

• Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD
• Security Clearance: Active clearance or eligible to obtain; U.S. citizenship required
• Salary: $90,000 to $115,000 depending on experience

Job Summary for Materials Research Scientist/Engineer

SURVICE Engineering is seeking a Scientist/Engineer specializing in basic and applied Materials and Manufacturing Research to develop manufacturing science technologies for weapon systems and Soldier equipment. Support tasks are complex and require the application of advanced materials and manufacturing skills in polymers, metals, ceramics, composites, additive, energetics, and bio-inspired materials.

• Conduct armor materials research for protection systems, to include manned and unmanned systems as well as Soldier protection systems.
• Conduct materials and concepts research for advanced weapon systems.
• Conduct materials and processing research at small and high deformation rates/scales.
• Conduct multi-scale advanced materials modeling.
• Recommend courses of action for internal and external Government research collaborations.
• Coordinate, prepare, and maintain supplies, materials, and equipment for use at laboratories.
• Present research projects at technical meetings and conferences.

Minimum Required Education/Qualifications for Materials Research Scientist/Engineer

• PhD in Engineering or Physical Science and at least 1 year of experience
• Experience working in a research environment (educational experience is allowable)
• Experience in writing proposals, reports, technical program summaries, PowerPoint presentations, and journal publications.
