Our teaching constructs and instructional style help students build confidence in math, develop number sense, discover their learning strategies, and makes math FUN! Using verbal, visual, tactile, written, and mental math strategies, The Mathnasium Way™ teaches the whole student.

We are looking for people who are skilled in the nuances of mathematics up through Algebra 2 (preferably Calculus as well) and enjoy teaching Math to students of all ages from first grade all the way through college.

We provide on the job paid training to teach the Mathnasium Way™ using verbal, visual, tactile, written, and mental math strategies, as well as our unique instructional style.

Our hours of instruction during the school year are Monday through Thursday 4:00pm-8:00pm and Sundays 1:00pm-5:00pm. We offer a flexible schedule and work together with our instructors when building the schedule. The average shift is between 2-4.5 hours.

Starting pay is based on qualifications and experience. Advancement opportunities available! We offer additional opportunities for instructors looking to stay with us for over a year and offer a pay structure that suits the needs of every potential instructor. All employees are included in our referral program, which includes a benefit for anyone who refers a customer to us!

The Role of an Instructor:

· Teach through Mathnasium methodology and terminology, using prescribed teaching practices

· Actively encourage, motivate, and engage with students during the instructional session

· Evaluate and document student progress

· Correct student work and provide positive, constructive feedback

· Maintain student attention and re-engage distracted students

· Manage student behavior to create a positive environment that optimizes learning

· Communicate student needs to center leadership and to instructional staff in a team teaching environment

· Assist in non-teaching tasks, which may include cleaning, administrative assistance, curriculum preparation, or other duties as assigned

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.25 - $17.50 per hour
