North Kern South Tulare Hospital District is looking for a full-time Medical Receptionist at Gloria Nelson Center who will assist in providing excellent customer service to patients, vendors, and the community.
Responsibilities:
· Answer the telephone, direct phone calls, take accurate written messages, and respond to caller questions.
· Schedule, reschedule, modify patient appointments, verify insurance benefits, and collect all patient demographic information.
· Register patients for Clinic visits, ensuring accurate and complete data entry.
· Obtain copies of patient photo identification and insurance cards, as directed by Clinic policy.
· Participate in daily cash drawer audit, at the start and end of the business by Clinic policy.
· Accept patient payments for co-pays, services rendered, and accounts receivable using approved forms of payment.
· Inventory and place orders for office supplies, as requested by the Office Manager.
· Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Office Manager, as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the Rural Health Clinic.
· Participate, as requested, in Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance projects for the Rural Health Clinic.
· Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies or payor programs, as may be directed.
· Perform administrative duties such completing forms, reports, evaluations, studies, ect., as requested.
· Follow all HIPAA guidelines, technical and physical safeguards.
· Send and receive documents via facsimile, email and or written.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including having received the booster shot.
Education and Experience:
· High school or equivalent (Required)
· Customer service 1 year (Preferred)
· Computer skill: 1 year (Preferred)
· Should possess, at minimum, a Medical Receptionist certification.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
· Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
· Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
· Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
· Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
· Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
· Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
· Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of patients during emergency situations.
Pay Salary Range:
· $16-$19
Work Schedule:
· Monday to Friday 8am-5pm
