Seeking a collaborative, student-centered school counselor at South Portland Middle School, a new 5th-8th grade school which will open its doors for the first time in the Fall of 2023. This position requires implementing all aspects of the guidance departments responsibilities, including providing individual, class, and group SEL support to students, coordinating 504 plans, participating in MTSS and RTI meetings, communicating and collaborating with staff and families regarding student needs, referring families to appropriate community agencies for assistance, providing crisis intervention services to students, maintaining educational records, supporting standardized testing and course scheduling, and working closely with all staff including administrators to further the schools vision. Understanding of MTSS and PBIS required. Experience with Infinite Campus preferred.
