Level II and Level III NDT Inspector and/or Examiner
Level II
- Verifies product is ready for NDT by checking the Job Traveler for completion of all prior operations.
- Perform NDT inspection/test using one or more of the following NDT disciplines: MT, PT, UT, Alloy Identity, Hydrostatic Testing, Load Testing.
- Gathers all necessary work instructions for performing the inspection/test.
- Perform equipment check to assure proper operation prior to conducting inspection/test.
- Visually examine the product and disposition appropriately.
- Be able to work with little or no supervision.
- Interpret and evaluate inspection/test results.
- Map the imperfections in the product, as appropriate.
- Write/fill out inspection/test reports.
- Coordinate with Examiner to order NDT supplies.
- Assist in training of all Level I and Level II NDT inspectors.
- Coordinate with Quality Manager to ensure inspection/testing requirements are satisfied.
- Coordinate with Customers for 3rd party NDT hold points.
Level III
- Meet all Level II requirements.
- Evaluate/Interpret customer’s non-destructive examination requirements per order and write inspection procedures for customer approval.
- Supervise, train and qualify inspection personnel as required by management.
- Design/build or acquire equipment needed to perform inspections.
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications via approved NDE procedures.
- Assemble certification packets and write certification reports for final product.
- Maintain records relating to inspection and manufacturing methods.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings including related specifications and process documents.
- Communicate with customer technical departments.
- Always maintain safe working environment.
- Familiar with inspection and measurement equipment and efficient in their use.
- Capable of determining the calibration status of inspection and measuring equipment is in proper condition for use, and that inspection, examination and test procedures are approved.
- Perform work without direct supervision or specific instructions. Give guidance, assistance and training to customer, supplier, engineering, and manufacturing personnel.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
Must be qualified or certified to SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-2132 in two or more NDT Methods:
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Liquid Penetrant (PT)
- Magnetic Particle (MT)
- Preferred candidate will be a Certified Level II or III Ultrasonic Examination (UT), Liquid Penetrant (PT) and Magnetic Particle (MT)
- Preferred candidate will have 3 or more years of NDT and/or dimensional inspection experience.
- Position is Full-time, Day-shift, no out-of-town travel required. Competitive salary and benefits package, pay based on experience.
- Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs. repetitively.
- Ability to operate overhead crane and forklift.
