Job Summary

Due to a pending retirement, The Greenwood Commonwealth will soon have an opening on its advertising sales staff. You would help local businesses get the most out of their marketing investment through our daily newspaper, its 24/7 website, and its sister publications and products. Those include a quarterly magazine, an annual telephone directory and a weekly shopper.

This position is one of two positions at our company that are primarily responsible for outside sales. That means meeting face-to-face with clients as well as making contact via phone and email.

Responsibilities and Duties

The majority of clients you will call on will be in the Greenwood area, but your territory will also include Greenville, Indianola and Cleveland.

Qualifications and Skills

We prefer an applicant with a college degree in advertising, marketing or related field and/or at least two years' experience in sales. However, if you've got the right personality, communication skills and drive but have been in a non-sales field, we will train you to apply those talents to being a successful and confident sales executive.

Benefits

Compensation is 100 percent commission-based with a guaranteed draw. Also bonuses paid for meeting certain targets on special projects. Fringe benefits include health insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, 10 days of paid vacation a year and up to five days of sick leave.
