Operations Assistant – Disney’ Animal Kingdom

Job Overview -The Operations Assistant position is responsible for Park Event planning, integration, and execution, as well as facilitating construction projects from development through implementation phase. Additional responsibilities as a member of the Parks Planning and Integration team could include, Cast recognition, Cast communications, local and global initiative execution. This role will report to Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s Planning and Integration Project Manager.

Parks Planning and Integration – Operations Assistant:

  • Be a resource to multiple internal and external lines of business who make event and media requests
  • Respond to requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Understand how events impact the operation and provide suggestions to mitigate those impacts
  • Lead the weekly Conventions/Catering Touch Base meeting
  • Park operations point of contact for day of event and media activity
  • Provide quality communication to internal DAK partners
  • Maintain and update long-term event planning documents
  • Maintain, update and send out the weekly Event Activity Report
  • Attend and sometimes lead the weekly DAK Park Partners Meeting
  • Attend Duty Meetings to provide event/media updates as well as understand the Park Operation
  • Assist with any PPI related activations (Cast Events, project work, etc.)
  • Project Manage select projects as delegated by leader
  • Showcasing flexibility with day-to-day scheduling dependent on project needs ranging from administrative duties to walking project sites with clients
  • Leading projects as assigned and providing required updates to key partners
  • Performing site walks to verify show conditions
  • Developing presentation materials
  • Maintaining and updating project photos, schedules, maps and weekly updates
  • Partnering with internal and external clients/guests
  • Compiling and distributing notes from meetings and blueprint document reviews
  • Assisting with park wide communication on behalf of the Project Team

Basic Qualifications

  • Willing to have a flexible schedule to represent Disney’s Animal Kingdom during media and event activity
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Experience delivering exceptional Guest Service
  • Computer Proficiency with Microsoft office
  • Being a motivated, self-starter
  • Handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with Cast Members, clients, and operating areas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Software
  • Experience with graphic design and presentation
  • Knowledge of Disney’s Animal Kingdom property
  • Operations coordinator experience
