Superior Cranes Inc. specializes in crane rental, rigging, and heavy hauling headquartered in Rockingham, NC, with branch locations in Asheville, Spartanburg, Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, New Bern, Florence, and Charleston servicing the southeastern United States and beyond. Reporting directly to the Director of Fleet Management, this position will communicate with SCI branches to facilitate service and parts needs for equipment. With equipment ranging from Dodge 1500 size pickup to 1600-ton cranes, this position requires at least a baseline knowledge on a wide range of mechanical backgrounds. Specifically, electrical and hydraulic control systems are a primary area of service.

This is a newly created position and will require initiative on behalf of the candidate to establish proper processes and procedures. The position will be based out of the Rockingham, NC corporate headquarters and will require travel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing service work that is performed at Outside Branches (all except Rockingham) and field service work performed on equipment dispatched from Outside Branches.

Duties include:

• Receiving and processing applicable service requests
• Assigning Mechanics and scheduling applicable services
• Track progress of service and communicate with appropriate personnel
• Inputs necessary information into NexGen (Fleet Management Software)
• Responsible for personnel and human resources duties for all Mechanics assigned to outside branches (all branches excluding Rockingham). Duties includes:
• Review and approval of time for payroll
• Review and approval of expense tracking including COMDATA
• First level of supervision, including dispute resolution
• Review and approval of PTO requests

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 7 years of mechanical experience.
• Ability and experience working with computers and fleet management software.
• Experience and comfort working with schematics.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10 years or more of mechanical experience.
• Experience servicing cranes
• Previous service management experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
