Description of responsibilities:

· Performs a variety of maintenance and custodial duties including sweeping, servicing restrooms, painting, and repairing fences.

· Installs, operates, maintains, and repairs irrigation systems.

· Performs construction and repair work of county facilities, including carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, cement finishing and welding.

· Performs landscaping duties including watering, fertilizing, mowing, pruning, and the planting of grass, trees, and shrubs.

· Operates a variety of equipment such as trucks, backhoes, fork-lifts, and tractors to perform duties.

· Supervises assigned work crews.

· Sets up equipment and prepares sites for public events, including the county fair and various sporting and recreational activities.

· Performs other duties as required.

Required experience: Theidealcandidatewillhavetwoyears'experienceintheconstructiontrades, landscaping, orcustodialmaintenance.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or G.E.D. and two (2) years’ experience in the construction trades, landscaping, or custodial maintenance; possession of a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License, with a history of safe driving, and the ability to maintain a safe driving record.
