Core Responsibilities:

Mechanical maintenance technicians are responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery. This is a job for people who excel at working with their hands. Spending most of their day on their feet, mechanical maintenance technicians have to have a certain level of strength and mobility to work on commercial machinery.

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshooting faulty machinery and diagnosing the root cause of the malfunction using diagnostic tools and problem-solving abilities
  • Performing mechanical repairs using hand and power tools
  • Collaborating with other mechanical maintenance technicians to solve complex mechanical issues
  • Keeping an organized daily log of all machine maintenance and repairs
  • Create and Follow Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures
  • Make Sure Machinery Complies with OSHA Standards
  • Guarantee that all safe work procedures and security guidelines are adhered to
  • Offer assistance to operations in running machines at standard speeds and centerline conditions so as to enhance productivity and efficiency
  • Offer assistance with troubleshooting of equipment problems
  • Complete maintenance care obligations and render assistance in equipment repair as necessary
  • Perform quality improvement and cost reduction and productivity as obligated
  • Participate in sharing of knowledge so as to mentor and train other unit members in areas of operations and maintenance to enhance their development
  • Guarantee operation of mechanical gadgets and machinery by ensuring completion of preventative maintenance prerequisites on production machines, motors, engines, conveyor systems, and pneumatic tools
  • Take out inoperative parts by disassembling devices with the use of cranes, hoists, hand and power tools; and also observing texture and form of parts
  • As certain changes in dimensional requisite of parts by examining used parts and utilizing micrometers, rules, calipers, and other measuring appliances

Competencies: * Proven maintenance experience.

  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills.
  • Eye for detail.
  • Professional presentation and attitude.
  • Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
  • Strong time management skills.

Preferred Education and Experience: High school diploma with not less than five years practical experience in the maintenance field Outstanding experience and expertise in maintenance and installation work on plant electrical mechanisms and equipment

  • Strong knowledge of mechanisms and control systems
  • Exceptional ability to perform in a noisy, humid, hot and high volume machine production environment.
