Yoga Instructor

Department: Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs

Pay Range: $27-$32/ Hourly

Job Status: Part Time; Day, Evenings and/or weekends

JOB SUMMARY

The Yoga Instructor will implement Yoga practices in an effective, safe and relaxing environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Develop and instruct a variety of fun, relaxing and effective yoga classes
• Educate participants on correct form and alternative moves during yoga routines
• Attentively listen to participants, and answer questions as needed
• Ensure classes begin and end on schedule
• Maintain attendance through superior service and continued growth of yoga knowledge, skills and abilities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or greater preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience leading yoga classes.

Licenses or Certifications:

• Driver’s License preferred
• Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Instructor – 200 hour level (RYT-200) or equivalent experience
• Adult CPR Certification
• AED Training

Special Requirements:

• This involves classes located mainly at the Roswell Adult Recreation Center (830 Grimes

Bridge Rd), Bill Johnson Community Activity Building (10495 Woodstock Rd), or the EastRoswell Recreation Center (9000 Fouts Rd).Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrate leadership capabilities
• Adaptable and dependable with a solid attendance record.
• Organized and creative
• Ability to customize yoga classes based on needs, ages, and ability levels.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work involves light to moderate activity which requires the ability to exert light physical effort, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (2-8 pounds). Tasks involve extended periods of time on floor. Tasks also require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
