Summary: Acts as potential patient advocate responsible for obtaining doctor approval for the initial prescription request by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Follows up on pending approvals via outbound calls, refaxing of prescription requests and the return of general voicemail calls.
2. Answers incoming patient and provider calls.
3. Performs data intake and data entry.
4. Responsible for data intake and entry as well as the creation and maintenance of customer profiles.
5. Maintains telephone call list and meets standard call goals.
6. Follows up with patients' provided doctor to verify information while remaining in accordance with HIPAA laws and requirements.
7. Participates in group negotiations and processing with providers and patients when needed.
8. Assists in answering patient and providers with questions or issues.
9. Sorts and matches incoming fax information from fax requests.
10. Sends fax requests to provider for missing information from credentialing.
11. Performs secretarial duties.
12. Completes assigned special projects necessary to aid in achieving provider relations.
13. Assists other departments with work overload or special projects.

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Chrome. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and less than one-year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
