Education/Experience:

• 1-2 years experience in healthcare billing.

Essential Functions:

• Help develop and maintain a corporate culture that supports the mission and values of Mayfield Clinic.
• Demonstrates and applies basic knowledge of posting multiple deposits from insurance payments such as lockbox, insurance, EFT/ACH, credit card, and offsets as well as patient payments
• Reviews Explanation of Benefits to assure proper payment and adjustment posting. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of claim adjustment and reason codes.
• Ensures posting batches balance to daily bank deposits and records deposits and reconciles into daily cash sheets
• Research, analyze, and process patient overpayments/refunds
• Demonstrates and applies knowledge in working in payer clearinghouse web portals
• Identifies and reports issues detrimental to prompt and correct reimbursement to management.
• Maximize revenue recovery by providing feedback to account representatives on inadequate insurance payments to prompt insurance appeals for additional reimbursement.
• Completes Unity Tasks, Resolving Unapplied Account Issues, and Check Scanning on a daily basis
