Summary:
This role is a direct report to the General Ledger Manager. The GL Accountant will complete all general ledger transactions and assists Shared Service Center (SSC) Controllers, Regional Controllers and the Employee Services Department as needed.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile weekly/Bi-weekly payroll to bank statements.
  • Prepare all journal entries related to payroll, benefits, 401K transactions including accruals.
  • Prepare and import/enter recurring monthly journal entries including insurance and rent.
  • Assist with Worker’s Compensation related filings/audit.
  • Handle Certificate of Insurance and Auto Insurance Cards requests.
  • Respond and resolve inquires related to monthly account analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly Intercompany documentation/balances.
  • This position is responsible for the financial function of the business and as such will perform duties in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • May have access to compensation information of other employees or applicants in this role and as such cannot disclose the pay of other employees or applicants to other individuals.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in direct payroll accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related accounting experience to include familiarity with amortization, prepaid, foreign currency translations, recurring entries, account analysis, and sub-ledger transactions.
  • Moderate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel and Word.
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX software and Hyperion experience is desired, but not required.
  • Must possess the ability to understand and apply principles of logic as it applies to processes, conclusions and implementation of concrete plan of action.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
