Job Summary

The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a Payroll Systems Analyst in the Internal Business department of the Business Services division. Reporting to the Manager, Payroll Services, the Analyst will perform advanced-level payroll and compensation analysis, research discrepancies in payroll and benefit issues, payments for vendors, tax sheltered annuities, deduction orders, and reviews and reconciles payroll and benefit data. This position requires knowledge of general payroll and accounting processes, data analysis and reporting, and advanced proficiency in spreadsheet programs, such as Excel. This position is full-time and offers the classified support benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and participates in the CalPERS state retirement system.

Requirements / Qualifications

The Payroll Systems Analyst position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to: completion of college level coursework in accounting, business, finance or related field, and four years of technical payroll experience. California public school district or County Office of Education payroll experience and PeopleSoft experience are highly desirable.
