We are looking for a Prior Authorization Specialist ready to join our team of skilled and dedicated individuals supporting the mission of patient access to care.

Responsibilities:

• Support NeurAxis Prior Authorization Program, including:

1. Entering and managing patient information in the patient tracking database;
2. Assisting with patient intake and verifying insurance coverage;
3. Initiating Prior Authorization requests on behalf of treating providers for both commercial insurance, Medicaid and Tricare
4. Gathering supporting documents from physician's offices (patient medical records, consent forms, insurance correspondence) to support authorization or appeal request

5. Tracking the status of Prior Authorizations and appeals until approval
6. Monitor and re-engage the payer until the final determination is made via phone, fax, or email
7. Educating patients on consumer appeals for coverage when needed
8. Working with patients, providers & their support staff to pursue authorization success.

• Seek continuous process improvement to increase success rates and reduce time to success.
• Submission of prior authorizations and appeals with commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Tricare
• Monitor payer trends related to approvals/denials and communicate directions to the team to determine best practices.
• Provide exceptional customer services to providers and patients.
• Comply with HIPAA laws and company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience with health insurance, benefits investigations, reimbursement, billing, and coding.

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in the healthcare field, Pediatric GI experience is preferred.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving skills in resolving authorization issues through verbal and written communications.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and stay organized in a high-volume setting.
• Ability to read, interpret and appropriately respond to payer requirements relating to prior authorization.
• Comfortable in a small, dynamic company environment with frequent changes in direction.
• Experience with Salesforce is strongly preferred or other Customer Relationships.

Management systems (CRM).

• Willing to develop and implement new systems for implementing a Prior Authorization program and tracking progress.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
