This is a remote position available in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia.

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Owner to join our development team. In this role, you will:

  • Lead a development team consisting of Software Engineers, QA Engineers, and Business Analysts to develop and release compliance and tax-related product enhancements.
  • Work on the Millennium desktop application requirements and improvements
  • Research federal, state, and local tax and compliance requirements, write user stories, and prioritize the team’s backlog to meet strict deadlines.
  • Proactively communicate with government agencies to ensure understanding of, and adherence to, detailed requirements.
  • Collaborate with company and department leadership to manage the product backlog in accordance with company’s strategic goals.
  • Create and communicate product release plans.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members as a people manager.
  • Work regularly with other product owners, as needed, to address cross-team dependencies.
  • Identify areas of improvement across your team and collaborate with career coach to help drive individual growth.
  • Facilitate resolution of related software support issues.

What Do You Need?

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field of study, OR relevant work experience
  • 2+ years working as a product owner or in a related managerial capacity
  • 5+ years working in software development is preferred
  • Strong ability to multi-task and shift priorities to support the team’s goals
  • Commitment to meeting strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Able to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder requests
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Compliance / tax knowledge
  • People management experience
  • Ability to read and understand C++ code
  • Payroll industry knowledge

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
