Tesla is seeking Production Associates for our production facility, Gigafactory New York, in Buffalo!

Production Associates will be responsible for performing assembly operations and must be able to work extended periods on their feet, demonstrate multitasking skills, follow written and verbal instructions, and adhere to all safety requirements. This is precision, demanding work that requires constant focus, attention to detail, and adherence to procedures. They must be able to work with various teams in assembly, including engineering, quality, and suppliers, across multiple issues and corrective actions identified in production and field performance.

Ideal candidates will have a proven record of success in fast-paced production environments. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills, and attention to detail while working in an environment where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded.

These positions will work a compressed work week. The compressed work week shifts and hours are as follows:

• C shift – 7:00pm - 7:00am, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday
• D shift – 7:00pm - 7:00am, Every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

Excellent attendance and punctuality are absolute requirements in these full-time, compressed workweek schedules. All shifts require working either Saturday or Sunday and some holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Perform complex assembly work.
• Tasks require using state-of-the-art manufacturing tools, precision measuring equipment, and machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions for specialized equipment.
• Collaborates closely with technicians and engineers.
• Identify discrepant materials/components both in writing and verbally to the supervisor.
• Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Must demonstrate an ability to perform standardized work processes and defined work instructions.
• Use of complex tooling that requires specialized training.
• Evaluate the assembly processes and equipment to look for continuous improvement opportunities.
• Possess a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements:

• Tesla Mission Driven.
• Computer skills are strongly preferred (using Word, Excel & Outlook programs).
• Must have a strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Must be reliable, have good initiative, be committed, and be quality focused.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds daily.
• Ability to work with a team and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• Ability to perform repetitious duties, including walking long distances and standing for long periods.
• Must have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
