About Us

Freight Farms designs and builds tech-enabled climate controlled farms in 40’ shipping containers. The Supply Chain Management Team is looking for a hard-working, detail-oriented individual to manage production of our farms.

If you’re a hard-working individual excited to be on the front lines of a fast-paced and growing team in an innovative and entrepreneurial environment, the Production Manager role is perfect for you. As a Production Manager you will be responsible for scheduling builds, communicating with the production floor, training production staff, reviewing engineering drawings, and sending ECNs. The ideal candidate will have run production facilities, have knowledge of sheet metal design, plumbing, electrical, and controls systems, have familiarity with CAD, and built relationships with contract manufacturers. If you’re looking to expand your production management skills in a fast-paced and fast-growing team, the Production Manager role is perfect for you.

This role will require travel to our manufacturing facilities about 50% of the time. As part of the Supply Chain Management team you will collaborate with Engineering, Customer Experience, and Plant Science teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain good relationships with production staff
  • Train, support and provide guidance to production staff
  • Communicate regularly with upper management to plan resources, capacity, and point out threats or opportunities that can impact production
  • Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising quality
  • Identify quality assurance issues and implement corrective actions
  • Suggest solutions for process improvements that result in cost reductions and process efficiencies
  • Analyze production capacity and advise on areas to reduce cost

Requirements and Skills:

  • 8+ years experience in a hardware product environment in Manufacturing
  • Thorough knowledge of construction, sheet metal, electrical, plumbing, & HVAC
  • Training in Continuous Improvement and Lean Six Sigma
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
  • Ability to constructively interact with others to resolve issues and improve the operation
  • Strong team player and motivated problem solver
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
