The Production Shop Manager guarantees the performance of their department and business units in their area of responsibility using lean manufacturing and empowerment tools in order to achieve the department objectives defined by the annual plan of the facility. They are a leader and mentor to their salaried team members and wage teams to develop independence, competencies and well-being.
KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
- Develop and be responsible for the progress plans of your workshop through the management of daily performance and empowerment to meet facility objectives.
- Deploy the annual plans of the facility to achieve the objectives in your department to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (budget) objectives.
- Be a coach to your Business Unit Managers and their operational teams to achieve the Michelin Best Practices
- Be a coach to your Quality Manager and their team to continuously improve quality results.
- Acquire and develop qualified individuals to ensure a good working atmosphere and good cross functional collaboration.
- Develop your salaried employees by outlining and achieving career goals through frequent feedbacks, people reviews and active development plans.
- Be a problem solver to help develop your team to find root-causes and improve processes.
REQUIREMENTS
- Engineering background or maintenance / technical experience
- Previous experience of leading teams and getting results
- 5+ years of increasing management experience in an industrial setting or military background preferred
- Good understanding of the steps of project management
- A history of achieving results through leading people towards common goals
