Job Description Summary
Anderson Hay & Grain in Ellensburg, WA is seeking sweepers for our hay press production area. We process and compress straw, hay and forage products for domestic and international delivery . We are seeking employees dedicated to arriving on time to work and committed to being a part of a team. Typical 12 hour shifts, shift runs from 4p-4a; Monday-Friday some Saturdays, especially busy during harvest season. This position is responsible for sweeping product around the press and keeping a clean production floor. Details below:
Pay: $17-$18/hr
Job Functions:
- Cut and pull twine from bales and sort bales and flakes for quality.
- Sort and take bales out of production which do not meet quality standards.
- Discard bale twine into desired areas.
- Operate De-stacker.
- Un-jam bales from de-stacker.
- Sweep chaff and processing chaff as needed.
- Cleaning as necessary (floor & Machine).
- Empty Chaff bins as needed with forklift as trained.
- Assist press operator and Press supervisors as needed.
- Support any other duties as necessary.
Job Qualifications:
- Past agricultural/manufacturing experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform work in a safe manner and follow directions with little supervision.
- Extended hours to include weekends if needed
- Typical work environment is in and around a variety of equipment to include powered industrial equipment, packaging equipment, and hay presses.
- Work environment may be dusty as a result of the processing of a variety of hay and grain species.
