TuSimple is hiring highly skilled production technicians who have a great attention to detail, are experts at problem-solving, assembling simple and complex hardware systems in a Manufacturing/Prototype environment. We are looking for production technicians to work directly with our hardware team on the upfit of autonomous trucks.

In this role, you will

• Support truck upfit following engineering documentation for hardware and electrical systems
• Work as a Production Technician building TuSimple's self-driving vehicles - this Includes vehicle build, sub-assembly and harness assembly installation.
• Candidates must possess excellent documentation practices.
• Work closely with Hardware Engineering and associated teams.
• Follow safety standards and meet internal deadlines.
• Work with limited supervision
• This role is critical to successful manufacture of our products
• Work continuously in prolonged physically demanding postures
• Workers must climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and stand for prolonged periods on concrete or metal surfaces
• Occasionally, may lift and carry items that weigh up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds) with mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers, if required
• Hot environment (typically around 90 degrees F) in the summer months
• Perform task prioritization

Required Qualifications

• Minimum (7-10) years of direct experience in automotive, trucking, or other low volume custom/production arenas
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, ERP, PLM, CAD, and various other software tools
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• Strong electrical skills, ability to read wiring schematics and layouts, and assemble wiring harnesses
• Ability to problem-solve, diagnose, analyze and isolate problems
• Proficiency with Windows
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
• Use of hand tools, power tools and material handling equipment while performing duties
• Perform technical tasks based on detailed written or verbal instructions
• Check work methods and results for conformance to standards and re-instruct as required
• Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards
• Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition
