Job description
The Quality Assurance Technician monitors production processes of the facility to ensure all products meet company food safety and quality requirements as set forth by company policies, customer requirements, USDA and BRC standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Complies with all food safety and quality policies, USDA regulations and BRC third party requirements. Models and coaches these expectations to other employees.
· Ensures product meets internal and customer specifications and takes appropriate actions when a non-compliance is noted.
· Conducts product audits for compliance to include proper labeling, packaging and weights.
· Performs and records quality checks on product and regulatory checks as specified within company HACCP, food safety and quality programs and USDA regulations.
· Inspects equipment for cleanliness and proper working condition prior to start up and record findings. Collects microbiological pre-op swabs.
· Conducts raw material audits to ensure incoming products are within specification before production.
Education/Experience:
· Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a food-processing environment.
· Good reading, writing, basic math, communication and organizational skills.
· Must be able to prioritize projects and multitask.
· Must be able to stand a minimum of eight hours and continuously lift, push or pull up.
· Requires the ability to stand for the majority of the shift in a cold working condition and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. safety equipment) such as hard hats, hair/beard nets, earplugs, etc.

This position also participates in vacation and sick leave pay programs. The pay range for this position is $19.94 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. This position is bonus eligible, however, anyone who commences employment after the beginning of the bonus plan period is eligible for a prorated portion of any bonus deemed earned and payable if he or she is hired and active prior to 180 days before the bonus plan period ends.
