  • Job Description
    The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury. In addition, the position provides patient education and performs quality assessment activities for the division, under the direction of the Imaging Manager.

    Minimum Education Required
    2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Required Qualifications
    A.R.R.T. Radiography registered with current ODH licensure. Previous radiographer experience is preferred.

  • Produces high quality Radiographic/Dexa/fluoroscopic imaging procedures.

    • Selects proper technical factors on individual patient basis, safely operates equipment, and develops radiographs.
  • Provides general care to patients so that basic medical & comfort needs are satisfied; reacts in emergency situations to initiate immediate & appropriate treatment.

  • Properly screens patients for appropriate clinical information; provides information to patient/family regarding Radiologic procedures.

  • Has the authority to accept verbal orders from Licensed Practitioners for imaging procedures, following hospital policy.

    • Completes necessary documentation & record keeping in Radiant Radiology Information System (RIS), IMPAX and IHIS on images, consultation forms maintaining patient confidentiality.
    • Demonstrates Universal infection control practices.
    • Maintains inventory of supplies and stocks areas with appropriate supplies.
    • May perform other Radiologic procedures and departmental functions within scope of practice, as assigned.
  • Maintains professional relationships with co-workers and other hospital employees.

  • Must be able to effectively and efficiently work as a team member.

  • Periodically evaluates own service delivery.

  • Organizes resources to maximize productivity.

  • Uses time effectively.

  • Maintains current QC data for assigned equipment and processors within the Diagnostic Department.

  • Critiques final images for quality and prepares images for interpretation by the Radiologist

  • Reports equipment problems to the Lead Radiologic Technologist or Associate Director, may initiate equipment corrective action and documents this action in conjunction with Clinical Engineering.

  • Maintains a safe and neat working environment.
