Job description
  • Audits central records by interpreting legal documents at an intermediate to advanced level, using extensive interpretive and analytical skills to ensure the proper aggregation of inmate sentences.
  • Analyzes and aggregates parole/probation, supervised furlough violators and new commitments into the automated system.
  • Confers with clerk of court, department of parole/probation, state and county officials to assure accuracy of legal documents.
  • Provides technical assistance to SCDC personnel, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, solicitors, and other state agencies.
  • Coordinates with inmate records/release section to ensure timely releases.
  • Provides audit trail by utilizing convict screen and notations in central records.
  • Performs other related duties.
Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

State Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in records management, information systems, or office
administration.

SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources)


  • Six (6) months of experience in records management in analyzing court documents.

  • Requires certification by SLED for running NCIC within 30 to 60 days from the date of entry into the position.

  • A degree may be substituted for the experience.

  • Requires use of CRT and/or personal computer.
