Position Summary

This position requires a highly motived individual who enjoys working in a multi-faceted environment. This position will require team skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate should also have a strong sense of personal drive, a desire to develop expertise, and the ability to work without constant supervision. This position will also be expected to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations and provide technical support and troubleshooting advice to Engineering, Maintenance & Manufacturing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with Project Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for adhering to the Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets. Reliability Engineer is involved in the design and installation stages of projects for new assets and modification of existing assets.
  • Integrates best maintenance technologies into predictive, preventive, and condition-based maintenance programs
  • Develop, implement, and support preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for new and existing equipment (vibration analysis, lubrication program, oil analysis, ultrasonic, infrared, NDT, thermography, MCE testing, and precision maintenance)
  • Develop and maintain machine BOMs in the CMMS system.
  • Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans.
  • Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) suppliers and technical maintenance service providers. Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria.
  • Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.
  • Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
  • Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors, and refines an Asset Maintenance Plan that includes:
  • Value-added preventive maintenance tasks
  • Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems
  • Provides input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation.
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. To fulfill this responsibility the Reliability Engineer applies:
  • Analyze operational data (KMI, KPIs, KAI’s, ) to identify gaps and areas of potential improvement
  • Data analysis techniques that can include:
  • Statistical Process Control
  • Reliability modeling and prediction
  • Fault Tree Analysis
  • Provides engineering support to Maintenance, Operations and Continuous Improvement (troubleshooting, problem solving, cost estimating and implementation of mechanical design solutions)
  • Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
  • Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelors in any core Engineering discipline – Mechanical or Electrical preferred
  • Solid experience in Production, Maintenance, leading projects, and Engineering Improvements.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership – 3-5 years’ experience with 10+ years in Reliability Engineering & Maintenance
  • CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer) certification is not required but desirable

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
