Job description
As a Billing Support Specialist, you will be responsible for a multitude of tasks within our team including, but not limited to the following:
  • Correspondence -That is received via USPS, Document Imaging, Fax and/or Email and identified by researching within our resources and routed to the appropriate department while meeting the expected goal times.
  • Service Now – Correspondence that cannot be delivered due to an invalid or inaccurate address requires research via available applications, documentation on file and/or phone call; verify and update the operating system.
  • Refunds – Review patient accounts to determine if a credit is valid and making the appropriate adjustments, review returned refund checks and research for a valid mailing address, review correspondence received via USPS and responding and/or acting on the request to resolve.
  • IVRN / IV Pump – Review, verify and enter charges under the appropriate accounts associated with IV Nursing Services, Education and IV Pumps. Auditing invoices and/or charges entered upon request of an agency, Accounts Payable or Management.
  • Pricing Audits – Enter credits and/or charges for a specific time period for a complete Pricing Audit requested by Account Management, Operations, Billing, Legal, Collections, etc.
  • Consulting – Review, enter, audit and correct consulting fees within the operating system. Communicate with Legal, Clinical Services, Billing, Management, internal colleagues and management to research and resolve inquires.

In addition, you may be responsible to partner and work with other departments on tasks and/or participate in various projects and/or meetings as designated by management.
Ensure appropriate and professional communication to our internal and external colleagues and customers on inquiries and resolve issues
Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.

Participate in meetings and training via phone and/or video conferencing
This is a Work from Home position with anticipated hours, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm local time however hours may vary by location and business need. Overtime, holidays and weekend hours may be required and/or expected

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 17.00
Maximum: 27.16

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications
1+ year using MS office in a professional or academic setting

Preferred Qualifications
  • 0-1 years of professional experience, including administrative, retail, or customer service roles
  • 1-3 years in a clerical, data entry, administrative, or other office role highly preferred
  • Experience working in a fast paced and high volume setting with strict turnaround timelines
  • Healthcare industry knowledge helpful Experience 1-3 years of prior office administrative experience
Effective multitasking skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication as well as listening skills
  • Intermediate to strong computer and typing skills

Education
Verifiable High School Diploma or GED required.
