Wage Range
$21 - $24 Hourly
This position will be based out of the main Sunnyside office. Serving mainly Prosser, Grandview and Mabton housing sites.

Position Summary:
The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) Yakima is responsible for the coordination and delivery of services and empowerment programs for residents of multi-family housing developments in Yakima County. The RSC is responsible for providing and coordinating on-site services as Play and Learn programs, childrens afterschool activities, youth, adult and senior programming and service provisions as well as providing informal case management and referral.
Additionally, the RSC is responsible for assessing, developing and identifying programming to meet resident needs, making resource information available to residents, and providing linkages to needed services. The RSC reports to the Resident Services Program Manager and works with all CCHS staff, on-site community managers, residents, and other community partners and contacts in the execution of their duties.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of services and education programs to residents at CCHS housing sites
- Develop relationships with local service providers to provide access to education, services and programs for residents.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with on-site community managers to coordinate site activities including scheduling meetings, notifications and ensuring access to the community room.
- Schedule and facilitate resident meetings and programs; including set up and cleanup of meeting space, recruiting residents, delivery of flyers and notices, and keeping proper records of site events.
- Establish rapport with residents and encourage participation to plan and carry out site activities and community events.
- Works in collaboration with CCHS staff to ensure proper coordination and delivery of program services and events at CCHS housing site.
- Provides general services including completing intakes, education (services available and application procedures) and referral of residents to service providers in the general community. These social services may include:
- Meals-on-wheels
- Transportation
- Home health aides
- Homemakers
- Financial assistance
- Counseling
- Preventive health screening and other needed services
- Connects residents to state and/or local service providers that residents can contact for assistance (i.e. services to families, children, individuals who are elderly, persons with disabilities, emergency assistance), Develop a comprehensive understanding of residents (conduct needs assessments, community meetings, etc.) in order to offer residents, the opportunity to be involved in their community and to guide them towards appropriate services and resources.
- Surveys the resident population to identify priority of needs and capture resident input on service preferences.
- Plan and coordinate recreational, cultural and social activities in coordination with CCHS and Property Management staff and residents, as needed
- Develop strategies to link residents with needed services, including providing assistance in overcoming various barriers that might impede access to services
- Directly oversee volunteers and contract service providers work. Responsibilities include training volunteers, planning assigning and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems
Connect residents to existing local community services and self-improvement opportunities
- Implement priority programs and essential activities through partnerships with other community based service providers/organizations
- Serves as a liaison to community agencies, networks with community providers and seeks out new services available to the residents
- Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant organizations and individuals, with an emphasis on providing on-site services to residents
- Meet with local parish and community representatives to engage local support for CCHS affordable housing programs and services.
- Provide social services coordination per the requirements of the applicable funding sources including (but not limited to) HUD 202, USDA RD or State Department of Commerce or other affordable housing funding programs.
- Support Diocesan efforts to promote a larger Social Justice agenda for the Diocese, specifically as it relates to CCHS Mission, Vision and Values.
- Refer CCHS residents to appropriate local service agencies based on needs of the resident.
Documentation and record keeping of onsite resident activities to be used in report and measurement of program outcomes and to the effectiveness of agency programs.
- Utilize database to track all program activities at each site
- Maintains orderly and accurate program files (paper and electronic), and record keeping/reporting
- Ensure that documentation progress notes and reports are accurate and on time

- Report to the RSPS in matters involving housing operations or property management at CCHS housing sites.

- Works from a team-based approach that may include staff and agency meetings to complete the goals and Mission of Catholic Charities Housing Services Resident Program and overall agency goals.
Job Requirements:

Physical Requirements:
This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking, and hearing on a regular basis to perform the job requirement. These physical demands are required up to 80% of the time.
Non-Physical Requirements:
Education
- Associates degree or some college education from an accredited college or university in Social Welfare, Human Services, Counseling, Administration or closely related field
- Combination of education and/or experience may compensate for education requirement
- Bachelors degree in Social Services, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services or related field, preferred.
Experience
- 2 years experience in nonprofit or public social/human services, counseling or community relations work preferred
Special Skills
- Knowledge of social services programs, service delivery networks and affordable housing programs
- Computer skills including knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail, internet access and specialized housing applications
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- High level of self-motivation and willingness to work in a team setting, including a high level of ability to work independently
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Knowledge of, and willingness to promote Catholic Social Teaching
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Licensure, Registration, Certification
- Valid Washington State drivers license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
