Tyler Union in Anniston, Alabama is seeking a Rolling Stock Supervisor. Duties are to oversee the forklift and roll-off truck corrective and preventive maintenance program and related services. Seeking candidate with automotive or equipment service and repair background.

Responsibilities:
  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program. 1st Responsibility – Ensuring personal safety and the safety of team members.
  • Proactively promote The McWane Way principles.
  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
  • Review daily production schedules to forecast forklift truck repair needs.
  • Manage maintenance forklift repairs for plant services.
  • Schedule and/or arrange for maintenance and repair of forklift trucks.
  • Maintain inventory of forklift parts and supplies.
  • Provide support to Warehouse Manager in overall operation.
  • Prepare and distribute roll off truck assignments based on daily production schedules.
  • Develop, implement, and track a mobile equipment PM Program.
  • Tracking and reporting of related maintenance costs.
  • Communicate with supervisors and managers to gather and disseminate information.
  • Coordinates with supervisor in receiving, shipping, warehouse, and production departments to provide additional, timely forklift maintenance services.
  • Routinely observe forklift and roll off truck operations throughout facility for safety and adherence to performance standards.
  • Ensure that roll off drivers complete all required preoperational checks and post-shift reports.
  • Interview and hire roll off truck operators and coordinates their training.
  • Oversee the daily workflow, shift assignments, and staffing of the forklift services and repair department.
  • Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Request and facilitate purchase of additional and replacement forklift trucks to meet the operational needs of the facility.
  • Lead periodic safety meetings; ensures compliance with applicable safety standards, regulations, and policies.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:

Directly supervise personnel. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years’ experience in automotive or equipment service and repair required.
  • Mechanical knowledge required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, iMaint, or similar software systems required.
  • Excellent time leadership skills and task prioritization.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple activities at a time and meet defined deadlines.
  • Self-starter able to complete assigned tasks with minimal direction.
  • Initiative to continuously improve tasks and/or automate for efficiency.
