SAFETY MANAGER POSITION

We are a Well-established Fast paced Excavation and Underground Utility Contractor looking for an experienced Safety Manager to ensure everyone in the company complies with health and safety laws.
You will also be responsible for creating and establishing policies to maintain a safe workplace.

As a safety manager you must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards and discover opportunities for improving conditions to execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential. Our goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports OSHA Standards (occupational health and safety)

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
• Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
• Monitor compliance with policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
• Investigate accidents and incidents
• Recommend solutions for improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics

Minimum Requirements and Skills:

• S afety manager experience (a must)
• Certificate in occupational health and safety
• In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA), procedures, legal health and safety guidelines
• Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Knowledge in conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
• Knowledge of data analysis and risk management
• Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
• Outstanding attention to detail and observation
• Team player and good communication skills is required and greatly appreciated
• BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
