Position Summary
· As part of the Health & Safety team, you will assist with developing a safety program that will support local operations and as well as the Axium enterprise.
· This position will hold primary responsibility for implementing plant-level activities related to occupational safety and health; ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements and laws to prevent hazards, limit injuries, and reduce overall manufacturing risk.
· This position is expected to support Axium safety programs to educate all associates, individual contributors through leadership.
Key Position Responsibilities:
· Recommend improvement measures to the productions process, which may include detailed report and performance records.
· Implement and maintain safety education training programs within the plant environment.
· Maintain and update existing safety procedures; ensuring standard operating procedures are up-to-date and communicated to Axium associates.
· Assist with hazard risk assessments for tasks or jobs to identify potential hazards and develop risk prevention plans to mitigate them.
· Review and analyze accident/injury reports and data for accuracy and detail, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
· Ensure that the company follows all federal, state and organization environmental, health and safety laws, regulations, and rules
· Facilitate and participate in safety meetings with plant personnel.
· Assist with reviewing the installation of new equipment to ensure it is setup for proper safety, and ergonomic considerations.
· Coordinate and/or assist with incident/accident investigations, hazard correction, and OSHA documentation.
· Assist with developing and implementing safety programs including, but not limited to: Lockout/Tagout, HAZCOMM, Fire Prevention, First Aid, Personal Protective Equipment, Hearing Conservation, Contractor Safety, etc.
· Develop and implement safety promotion materials, campaigns, and communication.
· Conduct workplace safety inspections.
· Support Human Resources on Worker’s Compensation cases.
· Provide positive coaching and feedback to employees.
· Develop training materials and coordinate facilitation & support of safety training.
· Periodically train employees in proper procedures and conduct periodic emergency evacuation drills to ensure planning is effective in practice.
· Assist with the establishment of PPE requirements based on the job-specific hazard assessments.
· Other duties as assigned.

· Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
· Strong communication skills, including effective interpersonal communication skills.
· Ability to write routine reports and business correspondences.
· Software skills, including competency in Microsoft, Excel spreadsheets, and Power Point.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
