ABOUT JBI INTERIORS COMPANY

• Conduct and document training on new and existing employees on the corporate safety program, as well as any and all training mandated by any government entity, such as OHSA, AZDEQ, EPA, Maricopa County or the City of Phoenix, or any training agreed to contractually
• Ensure facilities and business operations are in compliance with any and all governmental and environmental laws, rules and regulations, and that all necessary records evidencing same are accurately maintained. This includes the securing and maintaining off all permits or licenses needed to operate.
• Submit all governmental reports and filings in a timely manner and act a primary contact person and record keeper in the event of a governmental audit or inspection or a request for information from a contracted party.
• Advise and educate management and other personnel on safety, compliance and risk management issues, and recommend improvements in company policy towards same.
• Manage company's workers compensation program, including the investigation and preparation of accident reports, the administration of First Aid, the filing of all mandated WC reports, the coordination of medical care and return to work programs, and the management of open WC claims and the company's ongoing e-mod rating.
• Coordinate safety and compliance activities with production and other departments as needed to minimize disruptions to normal business operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SAFETY MANAGER

• S. in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years health, safety, environmental and WC experience in a manufacturing setting
• Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations of OSHA, AZ Industrial Commission, EPA, AZDEQ, Maricopa County, and the City of Phoenix.
• Demonstrated experience in organizing and conducting training presentations to employees on safety related topics.
• Experience managing a workers' compensation program.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work with and relate to all employees.
• Work ethic to perform the job with a minimum of supervision.
• Ability to use Word, Excel and Outlook.
