SCHEDULING COORDINATOR
SHIFT: Full-Time, Weekdays
STARTING RATE: $28.00 depending on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedules staff for client service matching client care needs with skills of staff. Ensures staff have the necessary information to arrive safely to case.
- Makes initial contact calls with new clients to verify information, e.g., client name, address, travel directions, pets, and establish client file.
- Communicates placements and changes promptly to client (or contact), referral source and staff.
- Conducts Aide attendance (log) calls.
- Participates in staff orientation, including statistical and performance evaluations as requested.
- Using the computer, maintains records and files, including statistical database, geographic and specialty training groupings for efficient accessing of staff.
- Verifies and approves field staff time/activity sheets to ensure that duties are checked, and days worked are accurate, and client and worker signatures are provided.
- Completes Pre-billing weekly for all cases.
- Seeks guidance and direction from RN/DPS/Administrator, as needed.
- Able to communicate with Aides the Agency Policies and Procedures.
- Maintains weekly staffing schedules, revises information as cases and assignments change.
- Assists with preparation of aide evaluations for probationary and/or annual review.
- Arranges for case coverage including emergencies, vacations, replacements, and weekend cases.
- Initiates incident reports and disciplinary procedures for individual HHAs & PCAs, as required.
- Make reminder telephone calls to aides for attendance at in-service education sessions.
- Responsible for adhering to changes in service hours, discharges, holds and confirms changes where required.
- Monitors Aides who refuse or reject assignments, updates system accordingly and communicates with DPS/Administrator.
- Participates in agency on-call rotation.
- Obtain insurance authorizations, update computerized system, and files as per agency policy.
- Assists with preparation and maintenance of client medical records, as directed by RN/DPS/Administrator
- Attends and assists with in-service training sessions for Aides.
- Provides supervision to aides at start of care, every 3 months, and as needed to deliver changes in the clients' plan of care.
- Accept additional responsibilities as DPS/Administrator determines appropriate for the position.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current and valid license as an LPN in the state of New York required
- Degree from accredited school/nursing program is required
- Education or experience in long term care or geriatric nursing is preferred
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, problem solving, and conflict resolution
- Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
- Strong customer service skills and compassion
