MTI Business Segment: Performance Materials
Position: Scraper Operator
Location: North America | USA | Belle Fourche, SD
The Performance Materials segment is a leading supplier of bentonite and bentonite-related products, as well as chromite and leonardite, to industrial and consumer markets globally. Products offered by the Performance
Materials segment include specially formulated green sand bond solutions for metalcasting, additives for powdered laundry detergent formulation, and pet
litter. This segment operates more than 25 mining or production facilities worldwide. The Performance Materials segment also provides products for non-residential construction, environmental and infrastructure projects worldwide. It serves customers engaged in a broad range of construction projects, including site remediation, concrete waterproofing for underground structures, liquid containment on projects ranging from landfills to flood control, and drilling applications including foundation, slurry wall, tunneling, water well and horizontal drilling.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Scraper Operator at our Belle
Fourche, SD location. The Scraper Operator will operate scraper and other equipment as assigned including bulldozer, blade, front-end loader, tractor, forklift, skid steer, truck and dump truck.
Position Details:
- Follow established standards to operate equipment for obtaining and transporting material in and around field and roadways
- Perform equipment pre-inspections and monitor equipment function during operation including fluid levels, airlines, brakes, tires, hydraulic lines, and gauges.
- Perform lifting and equipment cleaning & shoveling
- Assist co-workers in material transfer as needed
- Maintain appropriate safety and protection of others while performing job duties.
- May be required to perform duties in isolated areas without direct supervision.
*This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: HS Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Previous Experience operating Heavy Equipment required
- Working Conditions: Moderate-heavy physical demands; outdoor work; temperature extremes
- Work Hours: 12 continuous hour 5 days/week; overtime, night/weekends shifts assigned
