Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be an integral part of the accounting team to build processes and procedures to support internal stakeholders for a rapidly growing technology driven manufacturing company. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting operations, will report to the VP of Accounting & Administration-Controller, and will be responsible for a variety of duties as we mature as a department and company to ensure our reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Preparation of financial, tax and budget reports within established deadlines
- Responsible for cost accounting and partnering with operations to validate and maintain accurate costs on products in production and establishing costs on development products to ensure adequate margins and commercial pricing
- Responsible for forecasting and variance analysis
- Assist in the preparation and review of account reconciliations, journal entries, cash management and other relevant processes
- Assist in the audit process, establishment and adherence to Internal Controls and the development and implementation of Policies and Procedures
- Research and resolve discrepancies between GL and subsidiary ledgers accounts
- Prepare Intercompany and FX account entries
- Analyze monthly materials cost variances as well as monthly labor, overhead and freight costs
- Work with Executive Team and Plant Manager to develop and maintain operational performance metrics that can be used to measure and improve the business
- Supports VP of Accounting, as appropriate, on all auditing procedures, processes and requirements
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the VP of Accounting - Controller
- Assist in banking activity and compliance
- Oversee the month and year end closing process
