Springboard Collaborative invites talented and passionate candidates to apply for the position of Senior Associate, Professional Development. The Senior Associate, Professional Development will be responsible for planning and facilitating professional development training for assigned partnerships. A successful candidate will be an adaptable and flexible team player who can train and present information to ensure staff policy compliance.
Springboard Collaborative closes the literacy gap by closing the gap between home and school. We coach educators and family members to help kids learn to read by 4th grade. Springboard envisions a world in which all children have the requisite literacy skills to access life opportunities. The Senior Associate, Professional Development supports this goal by using existing professional development materials to plan and facilitate training that prepares seasonal staff to begin Springboard programming.
The Senior Associate, Professional Development will report to the Director, Professional Development and work as part of the Partner Success team. This is a great opportunity to support an entrepreneurial team to maximize the impact of a rapidly growing organization.

Here are your priorities in the first year:
- You will complete all assigned Professional Development program projects with < 0.33 overdue tasks per project.
- You will conduct Professional Development project plan debriefs with “4-person teams” (Program Director, Project Manager, Partnerships) to identify 2+ improvements to be implemented in the next professional development cycle.
- You will have an average survey score of 4.5 for “this training met my expectations/needs as a learner” survey question across all Springboard-facilitated professional development.
- You will have >82% of seasonal staff in assigned partnerships agree that they “had the training/information they needed to do their jobs well” as measured by the end-of-program survey.
- You will develop and send 2+ summaries with suggestions for ongoing seasonal staff development to Program Directors/Program Managers per cycle using learnings gathered during professional development.
Here are your responsibilities within and beyond the first year:
- You facilitate differentiated training, as well as needed standard training for Flagship and SLA (both in-person and virtual).
- You manage other professional development processes and systems (registration, attendance, make-ups, etc.).
- You liaise with the Partner Success Delivery team to share information and determine needed support.
- You collaborate with Academic Research and Learning Design team on all professional development projects.
- You assist with ongoing efforts to support teacher and leader professional development.

- Teamwork: You step in to facilitate training for others when needed with zero hesitation and find ways to incorporate others’ perspectives in projects.
- Training and Facilitation: You can articulate what adult learners need and present information with clarity and enthusiasm.
- Valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion: You see problems from diverse perspectives and consider various different needs when planning professional development.
- You have 5+ years of Pre-K - 3 teaching experience.
- You have 1 - 3 years of experience leading professional development and/or coaching teachers.
It would also be nice if you had:
- You have prior Springboard experience.
- You have prior experience in other after-school, tutoring, or alternative certification programs.

Compensation
Our compensation values: At Springboard, compensation equity is integral to the way we operate and our commitment to competitiveness, pay equity, performance-based rewards, transparent & equitable career growth, and progressive benefits.
Compensation for this role: Each role at Springboard is placed in a compensation band with 5 levels. Generally, we expect all candidates that meet the hiring criteria to be offered the midpoint of the band. This role sits within Band 3. The midpoint of this band is $92,658. The actual level of the successful candidate (and corresponding salary) will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, and other factors. You may also be eligible for Springboard's collective bonus program.
Our process to determine compensation: Springboard does not negotiate the offered salary during the offer conversation. Throughout the interview process, we will evaluate your alignment with the compensable factors listed in the job description. From there, we will determine your starting salary on a level within the job band.

- Paid Time Off (PTO) is important - Four weeks annually, prorated from the date of your hire. At Springboard, time off isn’t earned. Everyone gets access to their time at the start of the calendar year.
- More PTO! - All eleven federal holidays, including Juneteenth, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day, plus two extra floating holidays! If a holiday occurs over the weekend, we take off during the week. Election Day. YOUR. BIRTHDAY.
- Paid Leave - Parental Leave (12 weeks after the first 6 months of employment). Marriage Leave (five days).
- Under the weather? - We don’t cap the number of sick days available to employees.
- Technology support - All employees receive a Springboard laptop, an annual technology allowance, and a one-time remote work set-up allowance.

Location and travel
Candidates for this position must reside within California, specifically Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay Area. This role will be a hybrid of in-person and remote work, requiring 25% of travel throughout the year. Additionally, there will be quarterly travel to participate in team and org-wide retreats.
