Position Summary
At an exciting time in our history, SUNY Geneseo is looking to hire a self-motivated Senior Business Process Analyst who enjoys collaborating with others and takes pleasure in improving business processes and finding efficient solutions. This position works closely with team members in the Division of Finance and Administration, as well as with constituents across campus to improve service delivery. The F&A Division provides budgeting, financial planning, bill payment, risk management, procurement, hiring, payroll, benefits, facilities, compliance, union relations, grants and program administration, restaurants, and cafes to the campus community and beyond.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Finance and Administration, this Senior Business Process Analyst works closely with peers and leaders to develop solutions to enable the organization to better achieve its goals. The position identifies and defines business needs and opportunities for improvement, develops the business case, seeks to understand and improve organizational culture and structure, and delivers and implements service solutions, often using technology to ease workloads. The position explores best practice opportunities for new and innovative business processes. Collaboration with peers at other SUNY colleges is encouraged. Strong oral and written communications skills are a must. The position will also be responsible for F&A website content management and drafting project updates or the Division of Finance and Administration.

Flexible hybrid work arrangements may be considered as an option subject to NYS, SUNY, and Geneseo rules, regulations, and policies.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Must have demonstrated capability to work independently with sound judgment
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering campus values including those of diversity and equity and belonging.
  • Occasional ability to work evenings and weekends at peak service periods
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Business, technology or communications degree.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate meetings and groups
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in using technology to improve the efficiency of new and existing business processes
  • Proven strengths in project management best practices
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate a department’s needs and to determine appropriate alternative solutions
  • Experience with supporting organization strategic goals
  • Ability to distill technical information into succinct and digestible information for a broad (non-technical) audience.
  • Experience with web content maintenance and development
  • Skill in fact-finding and data collection
