Senior Superintendent

Southworth Development is seeking a passionate and process-oriented Construction Project Superintendent. This role is responsible for assisting Project Executive and Construction Manager, on construction-management projects. Experience: 10 -15 years of experience on construction projects in a superintendent role. Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of the management of site logistics and contract operations on high end hospitality environment. Knowledge of MS Project, and Microsoft Excel and Word preferable. Must be construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction. Must have experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control. Strong technical and communication skills are critical.

Supervision of the actual physical construction of the project in strict accordance with the contract documents; verification of safety compliance with all trades; maintenance and planning of reports, develop a schedule, oversee performance/execution, attend meetings, and manage the flow of information – both to the field from the office, as well as from the office to the field.

Lead by example a culture of safety and quality-control policies.

The Construction Project Superintendent will possess strategic insight, as well as exceptional leadership skills, creative thinking abilities and a process-driven approach to construction and delivery of a variety of commercial construction projects.

The Construction Project Superintendent will lead all field construction activities related to all residential product types, clubhouses, restaurants, marinas, commercial spaces, and infrastructure.

Direct day-to-day coordination of trade contractors -- and their sub-contractors when required -- to ensure high-quality work that meets the design intention of the client and company; maintenance of satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, etc.; and the ability to work in a team environment with other Managers, Engineers, and Superintendents.

Participate in construction meetings, bidding reviews and the creation of construction schedules.

Identify and effectively communicate schedule challenges, risks, and conflicts to stakeholders and provide corrective suggestions and creative solutions.

Assists project teams in schedule sequencing, methods of construction, project delays and impacts, alternate work plans, and recovery schedules.

Participate and provide feedback in project pre-planning, post-construction, and monthly project status review meetings.

Develop direct reports into future leaders.

You’ll spend your days embedded with internal and external construction professionals, efficiently delivering quality projects on time and on budget for each of Southworth’s unique projects.

Qualification Standards

Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or 15 years’ experience in ConstructionStrong technological skills associated with construction management and scheduling products, P6, Procore, MS Project.
• An accomplished leader, demonstrated by a history of leading effective, successful teamsDemonstrated success in building, leading, mentoring, and motivating teams; possessing the teamwork, communications, and management process skills needed for success in an evolving organization

A strong focus on both accountability and empathy – ensuring execution and fostering a strong culture

• Good instincts, political acumen, social intelligence, and strong communication and collaboration skills
• Self-aware and growth-minded: open to feedback, reflection, and continuing education to gain productive insight into strengths and weaknesses

Pay: $135,000.00 per year
