Summary

This role reports to the VP, Business Affairs and will play a meaningful role in helping the NFL Films organization run efficiently and in compliance with contractual requirements. This role will work closely with producers, creatives, and other executives providing day-to-day guidance for content creation process and oversee department coordinators’ work to ensure best practices are followed by Films in executing productions. Contractual agreements and negotiations will include standard production agreements, releases, talent agreements and creative licensing.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Producers, Creative, Project Management, Talent Relations and Finance on all Content production from creative approval through final delivery.
  • Review creative for potential legal issues, including clearances and licensing of third-party materials. Liaise with Legal as needed.
  • Negotiate and draft routine agreements with production vendors, including talent, location, footage, and rental agreements.
  • Optimize contracting process based on evolving business and workflow needs
  • Assess and manage risk associated with program development, pre-production, production and post-production, pitch/sales materials, creative concepts, contractual obligations, and business commitments
  • Act as a liaison between production teams and rights & clearances stakeholders regarding releases and various production agreements.
  • Provide ongoing internal training for business affairs processes and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • College degree from a four-year college or University
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience (Production experience. Business Manager at a creative agency/network or media company preferred).
  • Knowledge of music licensing, stock footage licensing and intellectual property licensing
  • Solid knowledge of media production and post-production process
  • Knowledge and understanding of digital media initiatives, platforms, products and services (streaming, distribution models and platforms, etc.) and the entertainment industry generally
  • Flexible and result-oriented, not afraid to challenge the status quo, and pro-active to suggest new approach.

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.
  • FLSA exempt.
