Job Description:

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as a Senior Enterprise Health Data Architect.

Assess the current EHRM data syndication and data migration requirements; maintain and update the respective strategies to meet the requirements. Review and update the data syndication and data migration architectures. Review and update the "how-to" guides documenting the data syndication and data migration execution steps. Track meta data related to all database objects. Conduct data analysis and develop white papers and presentations on data anomalies.

Develop and update the required Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation that supports the decision for an Authority to Operate (ATO) for EHRM VX130 and the OEHRM Program Data Repository.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional work experience, including experience standing up and maintaining MySQL databases within a healthcare setting
  • Must have experience independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software for a healthcare/clinical environment
  • Ability to perform as highest-level technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, healthcare semantics, informatics and multiple platforms
  • Must have experience seeing projects to completion
  • Must have experience performing feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare IT, computer science, electronics engineering, engineering or technical related field, or an additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
  • Experience with VA and DoD legacy health data, private sector health data
  • Firm understanding of data warehouse and database concepts
  • Experience with developing and executing SQL queries for conducting data analysis
  • Experience in developing and authoring research papers or white papers and presentations
  • Experience with data model architecture, data standards, and data migration
  • Knowledge and experience handling VistA data

Eligibility:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role

Compensation:

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.

Salary range: $125,000 - $150,000
