JOB OBJECTIVE
The IT Help Desk Tier 2 Technician reports to the IT Technology Operations Manager and works with a team of Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians and Systems Administrators. The IT Help Desk Tier 2 Technician’s role is to install and support various functions of the company’s information systems through the help desk. The right candidate will be technically proficient, organized, logical, personable, a self-starter, and able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills under pressure while always keeping an appropriate level of courtesy and professionalism.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of Windows PCs, peripherals, network equipment, tablets, servers, various software products including Microsoft Office, point of sale systems, cabling, credit card terminals, etc.
- Maintain the uptime of our stores’ internet and telephony connections.
- Provide over the phone, on-site, and in-office end user technical support.
- Travel to, conduct, oversee, and document installation of new restaurant IT hardware, equipment, networks, and infrastructure.
- Ensure proper recording and documentation of installation, troubleshooting, repair, and other processes.
- Act as an escalation point for Tier 1 technicians.
- Assist with other IT projects as directed.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-5 years of tech support experience or equivalent education (Microsoft MCSA/MCSE and CompTia A+/Network+)
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar, or equivalent experience and certifications (CompTia A+/Network+/Security+, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, CISSP).
- Reliable transportation for getting to and from work sites.
- Strong initiative to work problems to completion according to the standards and practices set by the Technology Operations team.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work on a ladder, under counters, running wires and connections, mounting and connecting network cabinets and equipment, etc.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
