What will you do

Job Description:

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Material Requirements Planner (MRP) are lead and develop work processes that integrate production requirements into materials plans. Responsible for meeting material availability needs, optimizing material inventory, phase in/out materials, and resolution of material supply challenges. Responsible for the scheduling of raw and packaging materials by converting the output of the Detailed Scheduler into daily / weekly material requirements to ensure availability of the right quantity of components to the production lines when needed. Communication of the monthly materials forecast to the various suppliers and generating purchase orders within agreed upon lead times. The MRP Buyer’s output should guarantee that the flow of materials is efficient considering the plants warehouse capacity and inventory targets to eliminate potential disruptions in the storage area, minimize both storage costs and material waste. Additional responsibilities include:

• Leads the planning and preparation of material plans.
• Maintains compliance with company policies regarding safety.
• Analyzes production specifications and warehouse capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine material order processes.
• Submits material planning report to management and develops solutions to address the potential material problems. Analyzes results and initiates appropriate action to meet business goals
• Develops a material delivery schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet production dates required by master production schedulers.
• Individual will perform planning and related data analysis needed for cross-functional projects
• Individual will be responsible for all material inventory management, managing inventory levels in accordance with targets and minimizing SLOB and non-working inventory.
• Effectively partner with internal and external business partners
• Responsible for delivering the RCCP/ S&OP processes for material suppliers.
• Generates Purchase Orders to suppliers and ensures that all material delivery schedules are communicated to the suppliers on time to meet plan requirements.
• Liaises with the vendors to clarify potential plan constraints and coordinates constructive conversations to resolve the constraints with the vendors and key internal partners.
• Tracks and reports supplier service performance, communicating the information to the Supplier Relationship Lead which makes use of the data in the monthly dashboard discussions with SSE
• Collaborate with QA and warehouse staff regarding rejected/defective materials, making the necessary physical arrangements with the vendor to ensure a timely return of goods or disposal
• Manages potential abrupt deviations to the plan assessing with the suppliers the feasibility of the changes, rapidly highlighting to the affected internal partners if the changes are not possible
• Liaises with warehouse staff to understand and adhere to space constraints, managing inventory levels within agreed targets
• Participates to meetings held with the suppliers to discuss continuous improvements of processes and systems related to the supply of materials, minimum order quantities, economic batch quantities and any other variable affecting the call -off quantities involved in the material schedule, providing valuable contribution to the discussions in order to identify and drive improvements.
• Ensures that all materials required are backed up with open orders, and communicating with the appropriate party when deviations are identified
• Expedite /de-expedite orders as needed to meet the production schedule requirements and maintain balanced inventory levels.
• Drive improvement for supplier performance metrics, specifically Supplier OTIF.
• Demonstrates an understanding of leading practices to drive continuous improvement in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) through the use of systems and cross-functional processes
• Knowledge of Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Detailed scheduling concepts
• Uses knowledge of raw material supplier's or internal production planning processes, supplier agreements, and common raw material supply issues to account for associated variances in the planning process while working in collaboration with SOURCE
• Demonstrates an understanding of the implications of incorrect master data on the outcomes of the production planning process
• Provide solutions to reach stocks targets (MOQ, Lead-times, Late differentiation) via supplier partnership
• Collaborate with suppliers and Supplier Quality providing necessary support to help resolve quality issues (NCs) in a timely manner, consistent with investigation team requirements

Requirements:

• Candidate must be able to demonstrate successful leadership, planning management expertise, and strong sense of process ownership
• Experience should demonstrate strong cross-functional relationship development and ability to influence
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills – must be able to relate & compare, securing relevant information and identifying key issues

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• Experience in operations or related field (Supply Chain, Planning, Logistics, Project Management, Procurement, Purchasing, Customer Support, Contract Management, Materials Management, Manufacturing) is strongly preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate initiative and lateral thinking to problems solve
• Ability to prioritize and must have a sense of urgency!
• Strong decision-making and communication skills
• Proficiency with ERP System and Microsoft Office tools
• Basic knowledge of master data elements and function within ERP system
• Certifications/Licenses: APICS Certification is a plus
• Travel <10% of the time to various sites

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $73,000 to $117,300.
